Parité Sciences is proud to present the Parithèque , its new interactive, open-access toolbox, designed to offer the educational community concrete tools aimed at inspiring new generations of women scientists.
The Parithèque brings together approximately one hundred resources created and disseminated by more than sixty organizations and initiatives, primarily from Quebec. These resources, almost all free, support the implementation of the ten educational strategies proposed by Parité sciences.
With this toolkit, Parité Sciences reaffirms its commitment to working closely with educational staff to foster inclusive and equitable learning environments that value and support the participation of all individuals, regardless of their gender, origin, or background.
Developed in collaboration with the Centre d'expertise numérique pour la recherche (CENR) at the Université de Montréal, this initiative benefits from the financial support of the Government of Quebec, through the NovaScience program of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, as well as the Secrétariat à la condition féminine and the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Light-Matter Interactions.
Not to be missed
Parité Sciences will officially launch the Parithèque on Tuesday, November 26 at 12 p.m. live on Facebook and YouTube . This 50-minute event will highlight the critical issues of parity in science, the essential role of educational staff in increasing the representation of women in this field, and will offer a comprehensive overview of this new tool.
Join us for an enriching discussion with three inspiring guests, who will share their perspectives and experiences in this field:
Rachel Faust
Rachel's career path may seem linear: physics student, college teacher, then academic advisor at Polytechnique Montréal. However, it also includes detours, such as studying oenology and business consulting. Her constants? Curiosity, rigor, and the joy of collaboration!
Hyacinthe Pilette
Jacinthe holds a bachelor's and master's degree in physics from the Université de Montréal and now teaches physics at the college level. She is also a doctoral candidate in didactics, and her research interests focus on students' experiences in CEGEP physics courses.
Mylène Corfield
After teaching elementary school for 15 years, Mylène now serves as an educational coordinator at Les As de l'info. Les As de l'info is a digital platform dedicated to popularized current affairs, designed to help elementary and secondary school teachers integrate current affairs into the classroom.
This event will be hosted by Nelsie-Anne Beatrix, communications officer, and Laura Vaché , educational exercise coordination officer for Parité sciences.
